I have been there bro..... I have been there.......

nccvoyager (Guest), August 4th, 2013, 10:05 am

Too lazy to log in... Heh...
Also, that third-to-last speech bubble? Absolutely brilliant foreshadowing. ;)

sonicmadgirl, August 4th, 2013, 10:34 am

I have the same problem right now, funny enough.
...I'll just see how Will makes it work and then I'll do the same!

"I wish I could shove my brain into a hard drive"

At least Stan fulfilled one of his desires.

MecanicalCH, August 4th, 2013, 10:57 am

ohhh...ohhh...what if he as computer is still in love of stan? 0.o in a murderous way?

Fire Hazard (Guest), August 4th, 2013, 1:01 pm

Is it foreshadowing?
If he said it during a flashback? Is it a callback? A callforward?

Lunaroki, August 5th, 2013, 12:40 am

Maybe postshadowing?

Sol, August 5th, 2013, 3:06 am

Be careful what you wish for.

Fire Hazard (Guest), August 7th, 2013, 12:53 pm

Ooh, I like postshadowing. I'm using that from now on. Thanks!

ChibiSilverWings, August 7th, 2013, 2:30 pm

@Lunaroki: @Fire Hazard: @Sol: @nccvoyager: I should have poked in sooner to tell you guys! :D This is an example of dramatic irony, in which the audience knows something already that the characters don't know. Such as if you had a character that you know dies by accidentally falling off a building saying to their friend "I think I'm going to go up to the roof after lunch." Or if a character who fears dogs is at the park, and and then we see another character take out a leash to take her dog for a walk at the park. We can worry for what's about to happen, even though there's nothing we can do.

/English major babble

Alexis_Royce, August 8th, 2013, 9:16 am

@ChibiSilverWings: The English major is completely correct. I almost named this page "Dramatic Irony," before going with something a little more simple.

nccvoyager (Guest), August 8th, 2013, 4:16 pm

Why am I so lazy about logging in? :/

Yeah, I knew there was a term for it... I forgot though. Honestly, being told to read and write about one thing for years has just turned the English portion of my brain into mush.
I realized my mistake in calling it foreshadowing afterwards, and, liker logging in, was too lazy to research and fix it... I get a month off from both school and work, and I spend it talking and playing online with my Portuguese friends. Whatcha expect?

ChibiSilverWings, August 8th, 2013, 5:13 pm

@nccvoyager: No problem! I just wanted to let people know what it was so they could use the term later if they wanted. Not trying to correct people to feel smarter, just because they all seemed curious to know what it was called for real.
